STICKERS!

Art in the Park Oakville was a fair I have wanted to participate in for YEARS. I am so grateful I had the courage and confidence to apply this year, and I am so grateful to the committee for admitting me - and I am MOST thankful for YOU and everyone who attended the fair. It has been the biggest and most well-attended fair I've been a part of. So truly, thank you for making that happen.

So here's how the day went!

We got up so early in the morning to begin setting up at 6 AM. When we got there, the weather looked super ominous - clouds I have never before seen! They looked as if we were standing in the middle of a circus tent with many points. I'm no weather expert, but I know that weird clouds mean BIG storms are coming and to take shelter. Thankfully, the rain held out until the very end of the show as we were packing up (in fact, I even got a sun burn!) It started when we were packing up inside the tent, and then stopped as we needed to pack up the tent itself (hurrah!). I am so grateful to my husband for helping make things happen behind the scenes, and to my sister for lending me her nice chairs to sit in!

My favourite thing about shows is actually many things - or rather, the PEOPLE I get to meet! I love when I have visitors, both expected and unexpected! I had friends and family show up and show their support. It was so lovely to get to take photos with them. I even had unexpected special visitors - some of YOU who have been following my work for a long time! Wow! That's what I love about fairs - I get to meet you!

It was such a joy to offer stickers at a fair for the first time. I was so glad to see that my stickers brought so much joy to the youngest attendees of the fair. I often think about children who attend these things, and how boring it might be for some of them - I like to bring things that they would like to see and experience, too. It's why I always make sure to bring ornaments and now stickers - because stickers make everyone happy!
