About bridgetI am Bridget Brain, an artist and art educator living in Toronto, Canada. I create landscape paintings using both realism and impressionism techniques. Through my artwork, I explore themes of preservation, memory, and the emotional and spiritual power of being immersed in nature.
Living in the concrete jungle of Toronto, I have grown an even greater appreciation for clean lakes, peaceful forests, and beautiful sunsets - which in turn, largely inspire my work.
In 2020, I was about to graduate from my Master's of Divinity program. I had recently failed the interview for my dream job - what I believed was my life's calling, and everything I had been working towards until that point - and I didn't know where to go next. I was praying to God for direction, and I received a vision. In this vision, I faced the ocean. Salt air. A storm brewing. Wind in my hair. I asked God, "What now?" and God said, "Walk." It reminded me of when Jesus invited Peter to walk on water. I opened my eyes, and suddenly the answer became incredibly obvious: I sat, praying, surrounded by all the paintings I had made from the past year. I knew what God was saying. I was meant to be an artist.
It's not always the easiest path, but it's meant to be walked in faith. I have always felt close to God through nature, particularly sunsets and flowers. You'll find a lot of that, here. And although my faith shapes my work, but I also want you to know, regardless of what you believe or don't, you are welcome here. |
The Collector's Club is my studio's e-mail list. You'll receive updates like where I am showing my work next, new work I am making, and I give you special offers just to say thanks. I send emails anywhere from once a season to once a month, sometimes more if I have something coming up.

One of my passions is advocating for the arts. I believe everyone needs art in their life, from the very young to the young-at-heart.
I want to inspire and empower you to create beautiful art, and bring beauty and serenity into your life. I create free easy-to-follow art tutorials on YouTube for beginners, and offer lessons and courses for those who want to go further and improve their skills.
Are you a beginner or intermediate artist? Do you want to learn to paint peaceful landscapes? I would love to work with you!
